Kilkerran 12 Year Old Whisky
Please note that due to a packaging issue at Springbank Distillery, this bottling may come without an outer tube.
After 12 years, this was the first core product to be released from Mitchell’s Glengyle Distillery. Mitchell’s Glengyle Distillery re-opened in 2004, following closure in 1925. It's a long wait, but worth it!
Kilkerran Single Malt is a lightly peated, double distilled whisky which is not chill filtered and has no added colouring.
Maturation Recipe - 70% bourbon casks & 30% sherry casks
Net weight: 1.6kg
Nose: Oak notes are dominant, followed by toasted marshmallows and dried fruit
pudding, as well as cherries, marzipan and a hint of peat.
Palate: Initially fruity with citrus notes and orange peel, after this: vanilla, butterscotch,
honeycomb and digestive biscuits can all be tasted and enjoyed.
Finish: Velvet and smooth with lemon meringue, to conclude, there’s an oiliness
and a saltiness that you’d expect from a Campbeltown.
Kilkerran Single Malt is 100% made in Campbeltown, from barley to bottle at Mitchell’s Glengyle Distillery. Re-opened in 2004 after originally operating from 1872-1925, Mitchell’s Glengyle is under the ownership of Mr Hedley Wright, chairman of Springbank Distillery and descendant of Glengyle’s founder William Mitchell.
