Isle of Cumbrae Distillers
The Isle of Cumbrae Distillers was established and, until 2024, run by 5 full- and part-time “Millportonians.” It was one of the few all-female distilling teams in Scotland and the only international women’s team, drawing representation from the UK, Canada, and the USA.
In 2023, as the team looked ahead to the next 5 years, they knew it was an important point of growth for the distillery, and there were two options open to them: commit to another 5 years or find the next generation of island distillers to take the business forward. A chance meeting here at Geraldo’s with Caroline Christie and Struan Fraser proved to be the catalyst for their decision to hand over the keys, and we’re delighted to be a little part of this incredible story! Despite the change of hands, the distillery team continues to create unique Scottish craft gins. Distilled with the highest quality botanicals, they reflect the landscape and flora of their stunning island on the west coast of Scotland.
