Tasting Notes
HEATHER - The wild purple flower that is Heather, is hand picked from the Isle of Bute, giving this lovely pink gin a vibrant floral nose. When balanced with the bright sweetness of pink grapefruit, this creates a subtly sweet and citrus finish.
OYSTER - The world’s first oyster gin. The stills are charges with Scottish oyster shells from Loch Fyne Oysters to add a delicate maritime essence. When blended with citrus and other botanicals, this creates a savoury gin which is a perfect pair to seafood and the ideal base for a martini. However, to begin with you must try Oyster Gin neat, the taste profile is one of a kind.
GORSE - The glorious yellow gorse flower is hand picked from Mount Stuart Estate, giving this gin a floral nose with hints of coconut and vanilla reminiscent of a summer’s day walk along the Argyll Coast.
ISLAND - This is a herbaceous and fruity gin that lends itself to life on the Scottish Isles. The bottle artwork is painted by Scottish landscape artist Emma S Davis - Morning Reflections, Port Bannatyne.
OAKED - Distilled using aged oak whisky barrels to extract natural flavours of vanilla, sandalwood and pine. Blended with a mix of traditional botanicals to create a rich creamy gin with a subtle not to Scotlands rich distilling history. Created to be served neat over ice, recommended garnishes are orange, apple and walnut or pear and grated nutmeg.
BUTE DISTILLERY
The Isle of Bute is a stunning island located on the west coast of Scotland. Head Distiller, Simon Tardivel, has worked all over the world as a multi award-winning distiller and brewer, before falling in love with the Isle of Bute while living there. Simon claims that Bute’s landscape and wild places are the driving force behind the recipes that create their selection of small batch gins which are distilled on the island.
