Summer cocktail anyone?

The sun is shining (hopefully), the BBQ is on and we have a great choice of summer drinks and cocktails for you! We have chosen serve suggestions that are simple to make at home, yet truly refreshing and delicious.

Which one would you choose for these summer evenings? 

Elder Zest

Elder Zest cocktail with Edinburgh Gin

This tall refresher blends the delicate flavour of elderflower with zingy lemon for a cool, thirst-quenching cocktail.

Ingredients

25ml Edinburgh Gin
25ml Edinburgh Gin's Elderflower Liqueur
15ml fresh lemon juice
Lemonade
Garnish - lemon twist and mint leaves

Method

Half fill a tall glass with crushed ice.  Stir the gin, liqueur and lemon juice together in a mixing glass. Pour into the glass and top up with crushed ice and lemonade. Garnish with a lemon twist and a sprig of fresh mint.

Fraiser Spritzer

Fraiser whisky liqueur is a great base for so many cocktails.  This is an easy and refreshing one to try at home.

Ingredients

35ml Fraiser Liqueur
100ml Ginger Ale (Fever Tree / Fentimans)
2 dash orange bitters
Mint leaves (10)
Strawberry slices

Method

Pour the Fraiser Liqueur, top up wth Ginger Ale, then add the orange bitters.  Mix together and then finish with the strawberries and the mint.

Moscow Mule Cocktail

Moscow Mule Cocktail

They say the Moscow Mule was born in Manhattan during the 1950’s when vodka was the craze and the name was given due to the popular perception of vodka being a Russian product.

Ingredients

1/2 ounce lime juice
2 ounces Arbikie Potato Vodka
4 to 6 ounces ginger beer

Method

Squeeze lime juice into a Collins glass (or Moscow Mule mug) and drop in the squeezed piece of lime. Add 2 or 3 ice cubes. Pour in the vodka. Top up with cold ginger beer. Serve with a sprig of mint.

Kings Summer Cup

What better way to laze in the sun than with a long, cool glass of wonderfully refreshing The King’s Ginger Summer Cup. Frightfully delicious!

Ingredients

1 part (25ml) The King's Ginger
3 parts (75ml) Fever Tree Lemonade
3 parts (75ml) Cranberry juice

Method

Build in a glass over ice. Add lemon wheels and strawberries. Finish with a splash of fresh lemon or top up with some sparkling wine. This drink can also be made in jugs or punch bowls.  Perfect for a party!
