Douglas Laing's incredibly popular Scallywag blended malt is created using only the finest Speyside Malts including, amongst others, Mortlach, Macallan and Glenrothes, all aged for 13 years.

Bottled at 46% alcohol strength and proudly non chill-filtered, this bottling has a distinct rich, dark colour which comes from the combination of Bourbon casks and Sherry butts.

Top Tip from Douglas Laing: Try your next dram of Scallywag with a chunk of good-quality dark chocolate. The bitterness of the chocolate will enhance the rich, fruity notes of this Sherried Malt - but be careful - this combination is dangerously decadent and as a result, very moreish!

Tasting Notes

Nose:  Sweet smelling with the smell of ripe, juicy sultanas and warming ginger.

Taste: Wonderfully sweet without being overly so, with a hint of cinnamon and spice and dark chocolate.

Finish: An absolute treat this whisky with zesty orange, sweet tobacco, cocoa and fruit cake.

Perfect Serve

Manhattan

Fill both a cocktail glass and a mixing glass with ice. Add 25ml of Scallywag and 15ml of Sweet Vermouth to the mixing glass and stir well. Discard the ice from your cocktail glass. Strain the cocktail into the now-chilled serving glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry.
