A bolder version of Ardgowan's classic Sherried bottling. The strength conforms with the British 100 proof designation, historically definied as the minimum strength required to ignite gunpowder. Matured in Sherry butts plus Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso hogsheads from the José y Miguel Martín bodega.

While the Ardgowan Single Malt continues to slumber for decades in our Infinity Casks, Whisky Maker Laura Davies applies the same meticulous approach to Clydebuilt. Under Laura’s expert guidance, these whiskies are laid down in the finest personally selected casks. Flavour development is closely monitored throughout the maturation journey, ensuring they bottle each expression at its peak.
Clydebuilt is a boutique range of Scotch whiskies sourced from across the country and nurtured by the expert team at Ardgowan. True to their values of transparency and uncompromising quality, all releases carry an age statement and are bottled at 46% ABV or higher, non-chill filtered and without artificial colouring.
Ardgowan Distillery
Great Single Malt Scotch whisky requires four ingredients: fresh spring water, malted barley, yeast and, of course, time. Ardgowan Distillery is a group of Scotch Whisky enthusiasts who feel that many distilleries, often because of pressure from shareholders, are in too much of a rush to get their spirit to market. That’s why they came together to form The Ardgowan Distillery Company - an independent whisky maker with a respect for tradition, a passion for innovation, and a firm commitment to giving every drop of spirit the time that it takes to make a good whisky great.
The Ardgowan estate is the site of a natural spring which provides water of exceptional purity and sweetness. It is also close to the sea and the warming effects of the Gulf Stream. All of which makes it the perfect place to produce an exceptional Single Malt with distinctive maritime characteristics.
Whilst they await completion of their flagship state-of-the-art carbon-negative distillery and the first distillation of their own spirit in 2024, they are sourcing and laying down Malt Whisky from all across Scotland. They select the casks and carefully curate them, only bottling when ready, at a minimum of 46% ABV, natural colour and not chill-filtered.
