Aberargie Distillery in Perthshire is a true barley-to-bottle enterprise, and their spirit is crafted with patience, intention, and an uncompromising respect for tradition. Distilled, matured, and bottled under one roof at Aberargie Distillery, this Golden Promise Expression celebrates a barley variety renowned for its rich flavour and historic importance in Scotch whisky.

Matured with a 68% influence from first-fill bourbon casks, alongside carefully selected first-fill sherry casks which make up the remaining 32%. This cask make-up highlights Golden Promise’s naturally structured and indulgent character, revealing layers of buttery pastry, baked orchard fruits and gentle spice.

Aberargie Distillery is right on the border between the Highland and Lowland regions, but unlike either in style. They use Golden Promise and Laureate barley from their own farms, distilled and then matured in first-fill bourbon and sherry casks, giving them complete control over flavour. This allows them to create a refined whisky that is true to its origins and to be enjoyed in those moments worth waiting for.

The Morrison family’s name is woven into the fabric of Scotch whisky, with five generations working as grocers, brokers, blenders, bottlers, and distillers. From managing iconic distilleries to creating award-winning brands, their legacy is one of craftsmanship and tradition. Today, that legacy continues at Aberargie — a family-owned distillery on our own barley farm in Perthshire.
