NEW - Ardnamurchan AD/Heritage Barley 59.2% Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl
The AD/ Heritage Barley Release is our most pure, distillate-led whisky. For this recipe we have stripped absolutely everything back, focusing on 100% unpeated, 6+ year old Golden Promise distillate, matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks, bottled at a cask strength of 59.2% ABV. This is Ardnamurchan at full power, sumptuously fatty and with extraordinary clarity. We are immensely proud of our bright, coastal, grassy character, full of vibrancy and Western Highland DNA in this unrestrained, naked recipe.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Freshly opened milk chocolate digestive biscuits. Glacé cherries, lime cordial, a soft dusting of icing sugar on marzipan, and apricot jam. Melted butter with acacia honey on sourdough toast. Salted preserved lemons. A whiff of long grass.
Palate: Chewable, oily mouthfeel. The marzipan theme continues, with sugared almonds. More nuts: salted cashews and subtle pistachios. A gentle, creamy sweetness. Rich orange polenta cake. Baked cooking apples with fizzy lemonade. Peshwari naan filling.
Finish: Oily, luscious and well-balanced. Medium length. Traces of soft orchard fruit, a sweet nuttiness and the last sip of espresso.
Ardnamurchan Distillery
The Ardnamurchan Distillery opened in July 2014 to begin the process of producing what has certainly become world-class single malts.
Ardnamurchan Managing Director, Alex Bruce said “When we filled the first spirit into casks, the concept of being able to disgorge those casks into bottles seemed very distant. However, we have had an incredible journey, building our 100% local team, filling the warehouses with over 10,000 casks and preparing national and international distribution. We relied on the unique local maturation climate to do the rest, and are really excited by the quality and consistency that has been reached.”
Uniquely in the whisky industry, all the power and heat requirements for the distillery come from local renewables. The river that provides the distillery's cooling water has a hydro-electricity generator and the biomass boiler is fuelled by woodchip from local forestry.
