Islay Whiskies
Despite its size, Islay boasts nine whisky distilleries! Being frequently lashed by Atlantic storms, sea spray permeates each Islay malt with a distinctive taste and aroma. Some Islay whiskies are powerful and pungent, leaning into the maritime notes. Others are more sheltered and opt for less peat during malting, leaving a gentler but still identifiable Islay character.
