Geraldo's GinFest is this Friday!

news

Not long until Geraldo’s GinFest. We are hugely excited to be hosting our annual Geraldo’s GinFest in The Brisbane House Hotel on Friday.  We'll have a full house as tickets are now sold out!

E-mails have been sent out to all attendees. If, for some reason, it hasn’t arrived in your inbox, here are the details of the night….

Arrival

On arrival at The Brisbane House Hotel, you will be welcomed at the entrance, checked-in and given a wristband. Please remember to bring your Eventbrite ticket either printed or on your mobile phone.

Please note that doors close at 9pm and last pour is at 9.30pm.

Meet the makers

We have a fabulous line-up of gins for you to try from across the country and beyond. You'll get to meet the people behind these wonderful Scottish gins: Persie, Rock Rose, El:Gin, Harris, Edinburgh Gin, Colonsay Gin, Arbikie, Makar, Blackwoods, Darnley's, Avva, Kirkjuvagr and Minus 33.  And also some fabulous gins from England, Spain, USA and New Zealand which include: Brockmans, Valentia, No 3 Gin, Junipero, King's Ginger, Scapegrace and Brooklyn Gin.  What a choice!!

Just pick up a teacup as you enter the Brisbane Suite, chat to the producers at their stands and try ‘Mother’s Ruin’ at your leisure.

Masterclasses

We are delighted that 4 of our gin representatives are running small, intimate masterclasses. Unlike some GinFests, these are FREE but limited to 30 people per class. Places at the masterclasses will be allocated as follows:

  • You can sign-up to your chosen masterclass on arrival at the Masterclass Desk
  • You will be restricted to one masterclass (allowing as many people as possible to enjoy these)
  • Allocations will be on a first come, first served basis.

There is not a lot of time between sessions, so please arrive promptly for the masterclass that you have signed-up to. That will help us run to schedule!

Masterclass Presenters

El:gin

EL:GIN - 6.30-7.00pm

Winners of Distilled Gin of The Year at The Scottish Gin Awards this year, El:gin Gin has been going from strength to strength since it’s launch in May 2016. Using as many local ingredients as possible, being hand distilled, hand bottled and hand labelled in Elgin, they didn’t really take too long to come up with a name. Come and meet Gary to find out more!

Berry Bros & Rudd

BERRY BROS AND RUDD - 7.20-7.50pm

Berry Bros. & Rudd is Britain’s oldest wine and spirits merchant, and one of the ten oldest family-run businesses in the UK. It was founded in 1698 at 3 St. James's Street, London (known as No.3), which is still used as the company’s headquarters today. This family business is steeped in history, culture and innovation. Learn more about their fascinating background from Callum and taste their wonderful gin.

Harris Gin
HARRIS GIN - 8.10-8.40pm

The award-winning Isle of Harris Gin is a firm favourite of many a gin-fan. Founded in December 2007, the distillery is committed to creating 'The Hearach' Single Malt Whisky as well as their Isle of Harris Gin. Their copper still, known affectionately as 'The Dottach', imbues the spirit with the complex delights of nine specially chosen botanicals. They seek to capture the elemental nature of the island in their gin, particularly the maritime influences of the seas which surround them on all sides. Emma O'Bryen will join us to answer all your questions.

ARBIKIE - 9.00-9.30pm

Winners of Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year at The Scottish Gin Awards 2017, Arbikie Distillery is renowned for their ‘Field to Bottle’ ethos. Arbikie is unique as it grows, distills, matures & bottles all on it’s farm on the Angus coast - giving exceptional provenance and traceability. The hugely knowledgeable Adam will tell you all about this exceptional family business and give you a taste of their award-winning spirits.

Food & soft drinks

Please remember to drink responsibly! Food and soft drinks will be available to purchase at The Brisbane Hotel bar. If you’d like to book a table, please call The Brisbane Hotel on 01475 687200.

Live music

Join us after the GinFest in The Brisbane House Hotel bar for some live music from 9.30 - 11pm with the exceptionally talented Classic Acoustic Songbook. The band consists of Olivia Fleming on vocals and Ronnie Garrity on acoustic guitar playing a selection of songs by great composers and artists including Carole King, Randy Crawford, Ed Sheeran, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin and many more great classics.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Toni and the Geraldo’s team.
