Idle Assembly Rum 5cl
This delicious Caribbean spirit is a blend of rums crafted by a third-generation family of rum blenders in Colombia, who pulled together rums from Trinidad, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Panama aged in bourbon white oak barrels for between 5 and 20 years.
The result is a limited production rum, rooted in the traditions of Hispanic rum making. Molasses fermentation and column distillation were aged in American white oak bourbon barrels for many years in a unique microclimate. The final product, Idle Assembly Rum, is dry, oaky, smooth and characterful, with no added sugar or colouring, gently rounding on the palate, appealing to connoisseurs and first-time rum drinkers alike. It's a tour of the Caribbean and beyond in a bottle.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Light ginger and orange blossom with toasted coconut and an added depth of oak spices, bergamot and sandalwood.
Palate: Initial note of Maraschino cherries, orange sherbert and clove, followed by toffee, nutmeg, cinnamon and Madagascan vanilla. A hint of rose water, fig leaf and honey completes the complex profile.
Finish: A light biscuit note, ripe banana, cocoa nibs, liquorice and cigar tobacco, with a hint of toasted almonds and cherry Bakewell.

Idle & Minty by Mikael Perron of "The Library Bar" at London's Lanesborough Hotel
- 2oz Idle Assembly Rum
- 1oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 3/4oz simple syrup
- Sprig of fresh mint
- Ice
Place all your ingredients in a shaker and shake well so that the ice bruises the mint while shaking. Pour through a strainer and serve with a fresh sprig of mint, or pour all the contents of the shaker into a glass, retaining the ice for a long drink.

- 35ml Idle Assembly
- 15ml Chambord
- 5ml Creme de Cacao Blanc
- 10ml Simple syrup
- 3 dashes of Bitters
- 25ml Lime juice
Shake all the ingredients together, then serve in a glass with a sherbert sugar rim.
'No Idle Assembly...'
In the summer of 2019, on Harbour Island in the Bahamas, the founders agreed to create a new rum, one that speaks of the island life that has been Founder David Flint Wood’s for almost 30 years. There used to be a sign there at Government Dock containing a list of rules and regulations, including one that states there should be 'NO LOAFING OR IDLE ASSEMBLY'. Hence the name of this rum, which was made for those who do want to idle in the sun, drinking rum.
In celebration of the heyday of island travel, which was the ’50s and ’60s when seaplanes were all the rage, the hand-made illustration depicts one coming in to land between the reef and a palm-lined beach. The bottle is also a tribute to a time when the rum of the islands was decanted into the most commonly available vessel - a standard whisky bottle.
