This heavily peated 9 year old single malt from Glen Scotia is their annual limited edition bottling celebrating the Campbeltown Malts Festival. These limited edition bottlings are intriguing, bold and appeal to those looking to be wonderfully surprised.

This year's dram is charmingly unconventional: heavily peated and fully matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, then finished in the finest Ribera del Duero red wine casks for five months before being bottled at batch strength - 54.3%. Expect a distinctive maritime character overlaid with peat smoke developing into a fruity finish with a whisper of liquorice.

Glen Scotia Distillery

Glen Scotia is one of the smallest Scotch whisky distilleries in Scotland but one of the big names of Campbeltown. Their lovely distillery still maintains much of its original design, including the mashtun, the stillroom and the dunnage warehouse dating from the 1830s. The last century saw turbulent times for the whisky distillers of Campbeltown, yet their legacy endures.
