It wouldn’t be Whisky Month without the stalwart Loch Lomond Group making an appearance!
The Loch Lomond Group is an independent distiller and blender of some of the finest and rarest Scotch Whiskies in the world. Their heritage is amongst the oldest in the industry, dating back to 1814.

The inspiration for the Loch Lomond distillery comes from the physical beauty of the highland region in which it is sited. The magnificent Ben Lomond Mountain towers above the loch and looks down on the distillery.
Loch Lomond Distillery opened in 1964, but fell silent just 18 years later in 1984. Fortunately for all of us, Alexander Bulloch and the Glen Catrine company acquired the business and resumed malt production in 1987. Grain whisky production began in 1994, with two new malt stills added in 1999 and a further two in 2015.
At the time the grain distillery opened in 1994, it was the only distillery in Scotland producing both grain and malt whisky. It also operates a unique set-up of four sets of stills producing many different malt styles as well as their Single Grain, made exclusively with malted barley. Loch Lomond distillery has produced many different brands and bottlings over the years, each with their own character and charm.

Glen Scotia is one of the smallest Scotch whisky distilleries in Scotland but one of the big names of Campbeltown. Their lovely distillery still maintains much of its original design, including the mashtun, the stillroom and the dunnage warehouse dating from the 1830s. The last century saw turbulent times for the whisky distillers of Campbeltown, yet the Glen Scotia legacy endures.
Known as the whisky capital of the world, Campbeltown was once a place that teemed with distilleries. Over time, all that experience, craft and passion has been poured into Glen Scotia’s single malt whiskies. Double Cask and15 Year Old reflect the originality of Campbeltown scotch styles, whilst their Victoriana expression is reminiscent of the Campbeltown style and is true to the Glen Scotia Distillery style.
Today, the Loch Lomond Group take immense pride in their award-winning whiskies across multiple award-winning brands, innovative distillery operations and their team of dedicated experts who make it all possible.
