Scallywag Blended Malt Whisky
A variation to Douglas Laing's incredibly popular Scallywag blended malt created using only the finest Speyside Malts including, amongst others, Mortlach, Macallan and Glenrothe, all aged for 13 years.
Bottled at 46% alcohol strength and non chill-filtered, this bottling has a distinct rich, dark colour - extracted from the many fine Spanish Sherry Butts used during maturation. In fact, they use 40% first-fill Sherry butts in the mix, and the result is a truly charming Malt with a richly spiced character, fused with vanilla (from the bourbon casks used), sweet stewed fruit, Christmas pudding, dark chocolate, zesty orange and sweet tobacco.
Nose: Sweetly spiced character woven onto delicious vanilla.
Taste: Sweet stewed fruit, Christmas pudding, dark chocolate and spices.
Finish: A zesty orange finish that features hints of sweet tobacco, cocoa and rich fruit cake.
