Loch Lomond Whiskies are the Official Spirit of The Open and this year are celebrating the 150th year of the championship event as it returns to the spiritual home of golf in St Andrews.

The Open Special Edition 2022 is crafted to celebrate the distillery's partnership with The Open, golf ’s original Championship and Loch Lomond Golf Ambassador Colin Montgomerie. Aged in American Oak Casks before being hand selected for additional finishing in Bordeaux Red Wine Barriques, they've used a combination of whisky from their unique Straight Neck Stills and more traditional Swan Neck Stills, to create the signature Loch Lomond house style of fruit, honey and soft smoke.

Michael Henry, their Master Blender, has crafted this expression with Colin Montgomerie to create a whisky worthy of this very special year and momentous 150th Anniversary occasion. Colin Montgomery’s signature is on every pack.

Loch Lomond The Open Special Edition 2022 Single Malt is of exceptional character with a burst of strawberry, peach and lime citrus, a creamy fudge sweetness and a lingering oak spice, and soft smoke finish.

Loch Lomond Whiskies agreed a five year partnership with The R&A, organisers of the Open, in February 2018, and are now the official spirit of The Open. Known as “The One”, The Open is the most international of the major Golf championships with qualifying events across five continents.
