Glen Scotia Victoriana Cask Strength Whisky
Glen Scotia Victoriana is an award-winning cask strength Campbeltown single malt, inspired by Victorian times.
Glen Scotia's master distiller hand selects the casks from their reserve cellar, chosen for their rare characteristics and exceptional maturity. Finished in deep charred oak, the result is an exceptionally smooth single malt whisky whose aroma and flavour work in harmony.
Bottled in the traditional way straight from the cask and without filtration, its subtle wood and vanilla flavour is enhanced by a full bodied spicy fruit aroma and mildly smoky aftertaste.
Net weight: 1.6kg
Nose: Dark again. An elegant nose with hints of oak driving the bouquet. Interesting creme brulee notes leading to generous caramelised fruits and finally polished oak.
Taste: Sweet and concentrated start with some jammy blackcurrant fruitiness. A big mid palate. Typical tightening towards the back palate. Becomes more austere with water.
Finish: Clean and initially sweet. The green bean, with cocoa characteristic.
Glen Scotia Distillery
Glen Scotia is one of the smallest Scotch whisky distilleries in Scotland but one of the big names of Campbeltown. Their lovely distillery still maintains much of its original design, including the mashtun, the stillroom and the dunnage warehouse dating from the 1830s. The last century saw turbulent times for the whisky distillers of Campbeltown, yet their legacy endures.
