Blair Athol 10 YO - Single Malts of Scotland, Reserve Casks, Parcel 6
A batch of six hogsheads from Blair Athol distillery has been used to create this single malt, distilled in 2011 and aged for more than 10 years. This dram is loaded with tropical and summer fruits, along with a patisserie sweetness and shadows of earthiness.
Nose: A jar of caster sugar, infusing with split vanilla pods. Iced buns, warm pineapple jam and strawberry coulis appear, with a hint of Gala apples.
Palate: Tropical fruit notes abound, with passionfruit and pineapple pâte de fruits. The buns from the nose emerge as Danish pastries, covered with pieces of dried mango, followed by a drizzling of spicy honey.
Finish: A long, sweet, tropical finish, accented with a touch of earthiness and a dusting of garam masala.
About Reserve Casks
The Single Malts of Scotland Reserve Casks are a flavour-led exploration of fine single
malts, bottled in small batches of four to ten casks. Each parcel of bottles shows the variety of styles and flavours found across Scotland, and the differences in angel’s share depending on region. Bottled at a consistent 48% with no added colour and no chill-filtration, the Reserve Casks are intended to suit the palates of both novices and experts alike.
