Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight - celebrate with us!

news

Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight is back in 2018 with the aim to celebrate and enjoy the fantastic variety of amazing produce we have here in Scotland from 1 - 16th September.

Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight

Scotland Food & Drink have set their #ScotFoodGoals to become a £30bn industry by 2030.  We have no doubt that this will be achieved.  In recent years we have seen exciting changes with a rise in craft producers, artisan cafes, street food markets and tasting events springing up across the country and here at Geraldo's, we like to support as many as we can.

We love being part of this industry and have listed a few of our favourite Scottish products below, all of which we'll be offering in store tastings of during the next fortnight.

Parisian Creams

Parisian Creams

In Scotland, it is no secret that we have a bit of a sweet tooth. The Isle of Arran Chocolate Factory makes many of our luxury handmade chocolates including our best selling Parisian Creams.  These dark chocolates have a smooth fondant filling in 12 different mouth-watering flavours. Take a look at Chocolatier Jan creating the delicious Lime Flavoured Parisian Creams HERE.

Handmade Shortbread

Shortbread House of Edinburgh

Although shortbread is made in many countries it is most synonymous with Scotland.  Shortbread House of Edinburgh pride themselves on making everything by hand to ensure that the taste, texture and appearance is far superior to mass produced products. You can really taste the difference!

Speciality Tea

What could be nicer with Scottish shortbread than a well made cup of tea?  We've recently been working with Scottish based tea blenders to create our own range of luxury loose-leaf teas, now available online too.

Award-winning Scottish Tablet

These moist, aromatic cakes are laced with fine single malt whiskies from the Highlands, Speyside and Islay.  Since winning the Scottish Gift of the Year Award in 2000 they have been firm favourites ever since. With a choice of 3 flavours you're bound to find one that you love.

Scottish Fruit Liqueurs

Scots’ Cheer is a family-run company that produces a range of full-bodied, real fruit liqueurs, perfect for all occasions. Based in East Lothian near Edinburgh, husband and wife team, Robin and Derry Ford, pride themselves on using as many home-sourced products as possible.  Whether you like gin, vodka, whisky or rum, they have something for everyone.  Take a a look at their Damson Gin, Gooseberry & Ginger Gin, Rhubarb Rum, Raspberry Vodka or Brammle Whisky.  Which would you choose?

Geraldo's Ice Cream

Last, but by no means least of our most favourite products, is our very own ice cream.  Made freshly on our premises every day using Scottish milk and double cream from our local dairy in Largs, we are proud to support this campaign to support Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight and highlight as many producers as we can, both in our shop and online.
